What is executive and leadership coaching?

A creative thinking space for leaders who want to perform at their best.

Executive and leadership coaching is a confidential one-to-one partnership that helps leaders perform at their best. As an executive and leadership coach in London, I work with CEOs, senior executives, people managers and rising talent who want to lead with greater clarity, confidence and impact. Together we sharpen your thinking, strengthen your leadership and turn the challenges in front of you into clear, practical decisions.

The more senior you become, the fewer people are willing to tell you what you actually need to hear. I become your trusted, confidential sounding board: an objective thinking partner who is not engaged in your office politics and not affected by the decisions you make.

I bring 25 years of corporate experience in law and financial services to this work, so I understand the high-performance world my clients operate in. I am also among the most highly accredited coaches in the UK, and the author of Falling in Love With Your Job.

Who I work with

Leaders ready for the next level.

Most of my executive clients work in financial services, technology, HR law or professional services across London’s Square Mile. They usually come to me at key junctions in their careers.

01

Newly promoted or stepping up.

You have moved into a bigger role, or you are about to. The skills that got you here are not the same ones that will make you successful at the next level, and you want to rise to it with confidence.

02

Established leaders raising their game.

You are already effective but you want to be sharper: a stronger strategic thinker, a more influential voice in the room, a more confident decision-maker under pressure.

03

Leaders facing a specific challenge.

A difficult team dynamic, a high-stakes change, a relationship that isn’t working or a pattern you keep running into. You want a clear head and a thinking partner to work it through.

Whatever brought you here, the work is about helping you grow and thrive as a leader.

How it works

A bespoke growth journey, built around your goals.

We start by establishing how you define success. I will ask you what needs to be different by the end of our work together, so that you look back and can see a clear return on investment in coaching. We take stock of where you are now, where you want to be and what needs to develop to close the gap, and build a bespoke growth journey around your goals and preferences.

My job is not to tell you what to do — you are the expert on your business and your profession. My role is to give you a clear, judgement-free space to think, challenge your assumptions and find better answers. Some sessions are practical and tactical. Others go deeper into mindset and emotional intelligence, the operating system you lead from.

I draw on a range of tools where they help, including psychometric assessments and the Enneagram for leaders. We typically meet for a minimum of 10 sessions, weekly or fortnightly, and every session ends with clear actions so the progress continues between our meetings.

Research commissioned by the International Coaching Federation and conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers found a median return of seven times the investment for organisations, and more than three times for individuals.

Coaching is now standard practice at the top of high-performing organisations. The best leaders make a habit of looking inward. They know their impact on others starts with understanding themselves.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is executive coaching?
Executive coaching is a confidential one-to-one partnership that helps leaders perform at their best. It gives you a trusted thinking partner and sounding board to sharpen your decisions, strengthen your leadership and work through the challenges of operating at or near the top. The focus is your effectiveness as a leader and the impact you have on the people and the organisation around you.
Who is executive coaching for?
It’s for people who lead, or aspire to lead. I work mainly with CEOs, senior executives, people managers and rising talent across London’s Square Mile, particularly in financial services, law, technology, HR and professional services firms. My clients are typically established in their careers and want to lead with more clarity, confidence and impact, whether they are stepping up to a bigger role or sharpening their performance in their current one.
What’s the difference between executive coaching and career or leadership coaching?
The three overlap and the boundaries are blurred. All three aim to lift your performance, but they start in different places. Executive coaching is for C-suite and senior leaders, where the focus is high-level strategy, judgement and the impact you have across the organisation. Leadership coaching tends to support mid-level managers and emerging talent, with more attention on the day-to-day: managing a team, communicating well and developing emotional intelligence. Career coaching is about direction — where your working life is heading and whether it still fits. A single piece of work often touches all three, which is why I offer all three approaches.
How does executive coaching work?
We start by agreeing how you define success so that we can build a personalised plan around your goals. We assess where you are now and where you want to be and then work through focused sessions that develop the skills, strategies and self-awareness to close the gap. I draw on tools such as 360-degree feedback, psychometric assessments and the Enneagram where they help. Every session ends with clear actions.
Does executive coaching actually deliver results?
Yes, and it’s now standard practice at the top of high-performing organisations. Independent research commissioned by the International Coaching Federation has found a strong return on investment for companies that invest in coaching, alongside gains in leadership effectiveness, productivity and confidence. The leaders who invest in coaching tend to be the ones already performing well and looking for an edge.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals. I ask for a minimum commitment of 10 sessions, which is often enough to create real change. Many leaders continue for several months for deeper, lasting development or to take on new goals. We agree what’s right for you at the outset and review as we go.
Do you offer executive coaching in person or online?
Both. I coach in person in London near Bank, Moorgate and Clapham, and online by video call for clients anywhere in the world. Many leaders combine the two to fit coaching around a demanding schedule.
How much does executive coaching cost, and how do I get started?
The best place to start is a free, no-obligation discovery call, where we talk through your goals and explore whether we’re a good fit. My coaching packages start at £1,800 for ten sessions, with a lower per-session price the more sessions you book. I also offer a trial session for £90 so you can experience the coaching before committing. Read more on pricing here.
Will my employer pay for the coaching?
Often, yes. Many organisations fund executive coaching for their senior people as part of a development or leadership budget, and some will share the cost with you. It usually helps to frame the request around the outcomes the business will see, such as stronger decision-making, better stakeholder relationships and readiness for a bigger role. I am happy to provide a short proposal, scope of work and invoicing to support the conversation with your sponsor, HR or learning and development team. Everything we discuss in our sessions remains confidential, whoever pays.
