Create a life you truly love.
On paper, life may be going well. You have built a successful career, people rely on you and you are coping with the demands of work and life. Yet beneath the surface, something feels out of alignment. You may feel stuck, uncertain about your next step or increasingly aware that the way you have been living is no longer sustainable.
Life coaching provides the time and space to think more clearly, understand what is holding you back and make decisions with greater confidence.
I work with professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs in London and internationally who want lasting change rather than quick fixes. Together, we explore not only what you want to do next, but also why certain patterns keep repeating and what it will take to move forward.
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a structured, confidential conversation that helps you make meaningful progress towards the life you want to create. Coaching focuses on helping you understand your thinking, challenge assumptions, clarify what matters most and turn insight into action.
A good coaching conversation creates a new kind of thinking. Rather than telling you what to do, it helps you discover your own answers with greater clarity and confidence.
People come to coaching at very different points. Some have wrestled with a question for months. Others arrive with little more than a feeling that something needs to change. What they tend to share is the sense that working it through on their own is no longer getting them very far.
When can life coaching help?
Whenever you feel that something needs to change but you are unsure how to make that change happen. You can bring a broad sense that something is off, or one specific challenge you want to work through. Clients often come to me when they are:
Questioning the direction of their life or career
Facing an important decision
Struggling with confidence or self-doubt
Feeling overwhelmed by competing priorities
Adapting to a significant life transition
Searching for greater purpose or fulfilment
Finding success at work but less satisfaction in life
Wanting healthier relationships or boundaries
Feeling stuck in familiar patterns they can no longer explain
Every client is different. Coaching begins with understanding your situation rather than applying a standard success formula.
My approach to coaching.
Before becoming a coach, I worked as a lawyer in the City of London. I understand first-hand the pressures that come with demanding professional environments, high expectations and complex decisions.
Today I combine that analytical background with internationally recognised coaching training and evidence-based psychometric tools, including the Enneagram where appropriate.
My coaching is thoughtful, challenging and practical.
I will not tell you how to live your life. Instead, I ask the questions that help you see your situation more clearly, notice patterns that may be limiting you and develop solutions that genuinely fit who you are.
Many clients tell me that coaching gives them something they rarely experience elsewhere: uninterrupted time to think deeply, without judgement or agenda.
What happens in a coaching session?
Every coaching relationship is different, but a typical process looks like this.
Discovery call
We begin with a free conversation to discuss what has brought you to coaching, answer your questions and see whether we are a good fit.
First session
We explore your current situation, clarify what you would like to achieve and agree how we will work together.
Ongoing coaching
Each session builds on the last. Sometimes we focus on practical decisions. Sometimes we explore deeper patterns that continue to influence your behaviour. Often, both are connected.
Between sessions
We end each session by agreeing the actions you want to take forward.
The journey is not only what happens in our sessions. Real change tends to take hold between them, as you reflect on what we discussed and apply new insights in everyday life.
How is life coaching different from therapy?
People often ask about the difference. Both have their place, and the right choice depends on where you are.
Healing and recovery
Therapy generally focuses on helping people recover from psychological distress, mental health conditions or unresolved experiences from the past.
Forward and future-focused
Life coaching focuses on helping psychologically healthy individuals move forward towards future goals. It is particularly valuable when you feel stuck, uncertain or aware that something needs to change but are unsure what that change should look like.
Sometimes therapy is the more appropriate choice. Sometimes coaching is. Occasionally people benefit from both, provided the two approaches complement one another. We can discuss the most appropriate form for you on a discovery call. If I believe another form of support would better meet your needs, I will always say so.
Why clients choose to work with me.
There are many excellent coaches. My qualifications are extensive — ICF-accredited (PCC) and among the top 2% of UK coaches — but finding someone you genuinely trust and feel comfortable working with matters just as much.
Clients choose to work with me because they value a coaching relationship that combines empathy with thoughtful challenge and structure. They appreciate that I understand the realities of demanding professional lives without assuming that career success alone leads to fulfilment.
My aim is always the same: to help you think more clearly, make better decisions and build a life that feels more authentic and intentional.
“He enabled me to understand which things in my life I was genuinely unhappy with — and I have been able to make good choices as a result. I feel more aware and emboldened.”
“Hans helped me find clarity in my relationships, my career and passion direction, and getting to know myself on a level I hadn’t known before. His style was understanding and inviting yet direct and insightful.”
“Hans helped me see the positive qualities I had been so eager to downplay, and to view my weaknesses as opportunities for growth. If you are looking for a life coach, look no further.”
